Perfect Suite For Us, in a Great Location! We needed a base for our two week stay in Vancouver and this was the perfect solution. A modern clean suite with excellent amenities. We loved the location, which was close to the great shops, cafes, bars and restaurants on Commercial Drive. It was 5 mins to the nearest Sky train station which meant easy access to the rest of Vancouver. The hosts were very friendly and helpful and we felt at home. This is also a great location for families as it is situated opposite a lovely park. Overall a great experience that we would recommend and would visit again!
Awesome Location - Fabulous Rental - Jen & Jean are the best! Location is excellent - apartment itself is on a peaceful residential road, but you are literally around the corner from a main strip full of shops and restaurants. Public transportation is easily accessible as well. Apartment has everything you need - space is well thought-out and efficient and spotlessly clean. It was nice to have our own space to cook, etc. and we could come and go as we please with our own entrance to the apartment. Jen & Jean are amazing! What a fun, thoughtful couple. They made sure we had everything we needed and went above and beyond to show us around Vancouver! We accompanied them on a snowshoe hike which was amazing and they had great tips for restaurants in the area, how to get around the city, etc. Truly fantastic. I have recommended this rental to several of my friends and next time we are in Vancouver this is where we will definitely stay! :-)
Beautiful and Happy Time. Jen was prompt and helpful during communications. The suite was cozy and clean and made us feel welcome. Our children were enchanted with the stuffed toys and balloons she gave them on arrival. Our only regret was not being able to take her lovely dog Boomer for a run around the lake. Thanks again.
A Dog Friendly Walk In The Park. Jen and Jean's lovely vacation rental is nearly perfect in every way! The rental is conveniently located to take advantage of the Skytrain. I arrived from the airport and took the Skytrain to the closest drop off to the property. We utilized the Skytrain to attend a BC Lions Football game, get to our bicycle rental for a Stanley Park bike cruise, go to Chinatown, get to a massage appointment, and to attend a wonderful downtown lunch on the waterfront. In fact, the Commercial and Nanaimo stations are about equal distances from the house taking a few minutes to walk from either direction. The house's front gate opens into Trout Lake Park which is dog-friendly and full of activities that we attended. We enjoyed Movie Night in the Park, the Farmers Market and a local musical concert. The people are friendly and all the dogs we met were very well behaved. We walked our dog there at least twice daily around the entire trail circumference. This takes about 15-20 minutes at a leisurely pace. We also utilized the Community Center for our workout needs. Other events that we planned were kayaking at Deep Cove, hiking at Suspension Bridge Park, hiking Point atkinson at Light House Park and going to Buntzen Lake to finish it all off. These activities were made possible from first-hand knowledge given to us by our host Jen. The house needs nothing as we enjoyed good internet speeds and all the accouterments to prepare and consume meals complete with refrigerator and stove. US and Canadian television stations are available. We used one of Jen's references for laundry and the going rate was $7.00 per load neatly folded for you in a few hours. If you elect to do it yourself you will end up spending about $6.00 anyways so it's a great service to use. We spent just 12 days in Vancouver on our 28 day vacation in Canada and were so sad to say goodbye to beautiful, friendly and engaging Vancouver. Thank you Jen and Jean. Great Value with a Convenient Location! My boyfriend and I stayed here for his 29th birthday for 3 days in August, 2013. Place was kept very clean. Has all the amenities of a home. Suite is located in a quiet neighborhood next to a wonderful dog park. We enjoyed our stay and time in Vancouver. Jen was very helpful with our questions regarding places to eat in the Vancouver area. Overall we had a wonderful time.
Perfect Place to Stay When Visiting and Exploring Vancouver. An ideal place to stay. Jen was very helpful and would be a great assist if you are new to Vancouver and need advice on where to go and what to see. This was my 3rd visit to Vancouver, so tourist info not really required. Plenty of guide books also provided for the "DIY tourist". Very peaceful and quiet neighbourhood. Close to Commercial Drive and main Skytrain hub in the city for easy access to Downtown but #20 bus from end of Victoria Drive is a good alternative. A real home from home, and will hopefully see you again, next time I visit Vancouver.
Absolute Bliss!!! Jen & Jean's Vancouver suite is the ultimate home away from home. Situated right on Trout Lake, you have the luxury of being out of the city yet very close to the sky train which is only a 5 minute trip to Downtown. Jen is the most amazing host, and gave us more than enough information about Vancouver and fun things to do and see. Anything you need, Jen is more than happy to assist. There isn't anywhere else I would stay next time I visit Vancouver. The Suite is very clean and roomy and had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. Thanks so much Jen for making our stay in Vancouver so very enjoyable!! We'll be back :-)
Great Stay While Visiting Vancouver. If you are planning to go on vacation to Vancouver, Canada I highly recommend coming to Jen & Jean’s place at Trout Lake. It is a very sweet and charming place close to a beautiful park - with an outstanding farmers market every Saturday morning!! It is a little bit outside of the main city center, but you can easily get wherever you want by bus or SkyTrain in 10 to 15 minutes. Both stations are in walking distance from Trout Lake Suite. Jen & Jean are very kind and are glad to help making suggestions on where to go for dinner and what to see. Both restaurants they suggested for us were perfect. We felt very much at home in their house and would come back anytime. Vancouver, we miss you!
Beautiful Location, Cozy and Affordable. I spent a week in this suite with my family this summer. It was located very centrally for the Vancouver area and right across the street from the beautiful Trout Lake Park. Great for kids and nature lovers. The suite is versatile sleep wise with an extra pull out bed and large couch, not to mention the queen bed in the bedroom! The suite is also efficient space wise, and very bright with large natural light windows and a large patio door. There is a nice open layout from kitchen to dining room to living room. The bedroom and bathroom are nice and private. The fireplace is a very nice touch, especially on a chilly mornings or rainy days. The owners are very nice and friendly and make you feel very welcome. I would happily rent this space again in the future.
Trout Lake Suite is the B E S T. My husband and two French Bulldogs took me to Vancouver for my birthday. We stayed at the Trout Lake Suite, and our experience couldn't have been better. The park was across the street, and the dogs loved the off-leash area. We walked to the Sky Train station and took the train downtown. That was great because we didn't have to worry about driving or parking. The suite was clean and easily big enough for all of us. The kitchen was great. But best of all were our hosts, Jen & Jean. They were so nice and helpful. We plan on returning again. And again!
